Matchbox cars and vehicles

Matchbox has a long and interesting history for the collector as it has changed hands many times with new and old series being introduced through the years. Started in 1948 with small line of different size toys the company changed in 1953 to producing their now famous line of 75 miniatures. Later in 1957 a new series called Major packs were introduced and later changed to a series called King Size.

In 1969 Matchbox changed the axles and wheels on the vehicles to compete with Hot Wheels this series was called Superfast. Around the same time the King size series was changed to Speed Kings and in 1977 the series was changed to Super Kings.

As shown above the company has produced many different series and lines for the collector to search for and collect. There are many different numbers and variations to search for and the values at this time are all over the place with different guides giving many different values.

Realpriceguides has tried to reflect the internet prices and the auction prices of today in the current world market. The values are subject to change at any time and we try to make changes as they occur if possible.

The bulk of matchbox toys have been taken offline to rework values and complete the new numbers series. At this time I have started to upload the Matchbox pocket catalogs and some dealer catalogs I have for you to view. Catalogs start at 1957 and will continue to at least the 1990s. All pages of each catalog will be on the website. The catalogs will only cover the ones published for the American market.
